Well, the last couple of weeks we've been finishing up our study of the Polar Regions and moving into some geography lessons. Here are some of our morning messages from the weeks:
There has also been lots of great Montessori work going on during our Work Cycles!

We certainly are doing lots of great work! Check out the slideshow on the main page for even more photos!
We were also super-excited about our visit from the Nashville Public Library's Puppet Truck. They performed "Many Moons" and the kids had a great time. Here are some photos from the show including the Q & A session afterwards.

NOTE: There is a video here that I have tried to delete--it is not showing up in my editing screen so I can't delete it but it is still showing up on the blog. I apologize--it's not related to me or to our classroom!
If you have an opportunity to go to the library's puppet shows on Friday or Saturday or to see the Puppet Truck, I highly recommend it! Here is a link to their blog with showtimes and information. They are performing "Anansi the Spider" during February.
This past week we have begun studying some geography using our globe and world map. We've learned our continent song (I'll try to get a video of it to upload here), practiced the names of the continents and located North America where we live. We had a lesson on pin punching continents to make a map (great fine motor activity!). We will continue our map & geography studies this week as we have lessons on our new Continent Box work as well as land and water forms. Stay tuned for more!
