Although It may not feel like fall yet (today feels fabulous but I'm not holding my breath that it's here to stay...), we started talking about apples this week at school as part of our science studies. On Monday, we tasted yellow, green and red apples. Then we graphed our favorite and compared which had the most & least on our graph.
On Tuesday, we Talked about patterns and made patterns with apples. We talked about AB patterns, AABB patterns, ABC patterns, etc. There are a number of apple pattern works on the shelves for the kids to explore and practice as well.
On Wednesday, we learned the parts of an apple.
On Thursday, we learned even more about apples as we talked about how the apple grows and the life cycle of the apple.
Finally on Friday we talked about all the things we had learned about apples this week. I was impressed by all the different details they remembered!
Here is some more apple work from the week:
Next week we're going to start talking about solid shapes (cube, come, sphere, etc.). Look for more apple work coming home, too!
